What is an NFC tag?

NFC tag is a smart tag based on Near Field Communication technology. This technology allows NFC tags to communicate wirelessly with devices such as smartphones and tablets. The NFC tag is internally integrated with a microprocessor, which has the function of receiving and sending wireless signals. At the same time, it also provides energy within the range near the connected equipment.

When smart devices are close to the NFC tag, an electromagnetic induction area will be established between them to realize wireless communication by scanning and exchanging data. The distance of such wireless communication is relatively short, generally within 4 cm. However, compared with other wireless communication technologies, NFC tags have lower power consumption and faster response speed. In addition, the NFC label can be permanently embedded in the product without replacing the battery or requiring additional power supply, which makes it very practical in various application scenarios.

NFC tags are widely used, including but not limited to the following aspects:
1.Information sharing:
Users can easily share information by simply placing the device close to the NFC tag, eliminating tedious connection steps.
2.Access control and security control:
NFC tags can be used in access control systems, such as offices, schools, hospitals and other places, to achieve fast access control. It can also be used to unlock the lock screen of personal devices, providing convenient security protection.
3.Electronic payment:
NFC tags support mobile payment. Users can use smart phones that support NFC technology to complete fast and convenient payment transactions without carrying physical credit cards.
4.Product identity authentication:
NFC tags can be used to verify the authenticity and identity of products, help combat counterfeit and shoddy products, and enhance consumers’ trust in products.
5.Transportation ticketing:
NFC tags are also widely used in public transportation systems. Passengers can quickly swipe their cards in and out by simply putting their mobile phones near the NFC label, which is convenient and fast.
6.Smart tags and tracking:
NFC tags can be embedded in objects for intelligent management and tracking. For example, in the logistics industry, it can be used to track the transportation status and location of goods.

In addition, NFC tags also have innovative applications in smart home, smart retail and other fields. In the field of smart home, by attaching NFC tags to each electrical device, users can quickly set the device, such as adjusting the temperature of the air conditioner, opening curtains, etc., by simply placing the phone close to the tag. In the field of smart retail, by attaching NFC tags to product tags, users can scan the tags through their mobile phones to understand the details of products, participate in relevant activities or purchase, and improve their shopping experience.

In general, NFC tag, as an innovative wireless communication technology, has a broad application prospect. It has brought many conveniences to consumers and enterprises, and is expected to promote the development of more innovative applications in the future.
